ASEAN4TB ABSTRACT SUBMISSION RULES & GUIDELINES
General
1. Abstracts are accepted for the oral and paper-based poster session.
2. Both oral and poster presentations will be presented on July 1, 2026.
3. Presenters are required to deliver their presentations and respond to audience questions within the allotted time.
Topics
1. Abstracts must be in the areas of:
- TB diagnostics
- TB screening
- TB treatment innovation
- TB management
- TB and comorbidities
- TB prevention
- AI-assisted technologies for TB
- Maternal and child TB
- TB policy and clinical implementation
- Health and well-being post TB
- TB and nutrition
Abstracts Formatting
1. The abstract is only accepted for original research.
2. The abstract title should begin with a capital letter followed by lowercase lettering with no more than 25 words (110 characters and spaces). Capital letters are only applied to the first word,
acronyms, and proper nouns.
3. The body of text can be a maximum of 300 words and is permitted to include one figure and/or one table per abstract.
4. Abstracts should be written in a structured format and include: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
5. Please note that affiliations do not count as part of the 300 words.
6. Abstracts must be submitted in English. Abstracts submitted in a language other than English will be rejected.
7. Authors are responsible for proofreading and submitting an abstract without language and formatting errors.
8. Abbreviations and acronyms should be written out in full at the first mention in the text.
9. Revisions will not be permitted after the abstract is submitted.
File Upload
1. Authors must download the Identification Form and fill out the form to identify the preferred abstract presentation type. The identification form must be uploaded to the submission form. Should the authors not upload the identification form, the abstract will be allotted to the oral or poster session based on the reviewer's assessment.
2. The identification form must be signed. Using a digital signature is acceptable. If signed with a wet signature, the printed form must be scanned after the form is signed.
3. Figure, table, and identification form are uploaded in the “Upload Files” step of the submission.
4. Data/characters included in the figures or table are not considered for the word count.
5. The maximum file size of each figure/image is 40 MB.
6. The table can be uploaded in PDF, JPG/JPEG, GIF or PNG formats
7. The figure can be uploaded in JPG/JPEG, GIF or PNG formats. There is no requirement of resolution as long as the image readability is uncompromised. As a reference, the recommended resolution: 300 dpi for images and 600 dpi for line art (charts).
Authors
1. Authors’ names and affiliations are entered in the “Contributor” step

2. The corresponding author is responsible for the abstract content. They are the contact person for submission and communication purposes and they are also responsible for disseminating information related to the abstract to the co-authors.
3. Assign one of the authors as the corresponding author by clicking the “Set Primary Contact” button.

4. Please note that only one person will be allowed to present the abstract. The presenter could be from the first author, co-author, or corresponding author.
5. The presenting author must be registered to attend the event.
6. As they submit an abstract, authors have to be aware that they must register for the conference if they have an abstract accepted, and be available on-site to present the presentation.
7. Once the abstract is submitted, the list of co-authors can no longer be amended.
Originality and linguistic accuracy
1. Abstracts must contain original data and be free of plagiarism.
2. Abstracts must be written, submitted, and presented in English.
3. The linguistic accuracy of the abstract is the responsibility of the authors.
4. The abstract must not have been published or presented in another conference/event.
Submission
1. Online submissions will be open from 22 December 2025 until 31 March 2026 at 23:59 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). No further changes are accepted after the abstract is submitted.
2. Abstract must be submitted online at abstract.asean4tb.org.
3. The corresponding author will receive an email confirming that the submitted abstract has been received.
4. An abstract should be submitted only under one submission. The submissions of multiple abstracts on the same topic by varying the authors or under different titles with only minor word changes or the submissions of multiple abstracts on the same study with the same first author are not encouraged. In such cases, all the submissions on that topic will be automatically rejected.
5. Abstracts submitted by email will not be considered.
6. Users will need to create an account to submit the abstract.
7. It is the responsibility of the authors to save a copy of their abstract as submitted. The Conference Secretariat will not share copies of the abstracts.
Evaluation
1. Abstract submissions will be reviewed by the Abstracts Review Committee for acceptance. Each abstract will be reviewed and scored by six reviewers. The scores will then be submitted to the Scientific Committee to determine which abstracts are accepted.
2. Abstract acceptance notifications will be sent to authors by email no later than early mid-April 2026.
Publication
1. Accepted abstracts will be published in the scientific and online programs of the ASEAN4TB.
2. Accepted abstracts will be published on "Publications" section of the ASEAN4TB website.
Awards
1. There will be 3 best oral presentations and 3 best poster presentations from all the abstracts accepted.
2. The winners will be announced in the closing ceremony on July 2, 2026.
3. The authors must attend or be represented by another person to receive the awards.
Copyrights
1. Authors are required to write an original abstract that fulfills accepted criteria for copyright purposes.
2. By submitting an abstract, all authors attest that the abstract submitted has not been previously published elsewhere and transfers, assigns, or otherwise conveys all copyright ownership, including any and all rights incidental thereto, exclusively to the committee and AMSN.
3. If an author chooses to submit information from an abstract that has previously been presented and/or published, all data must be updated, current, and rewritten in a manner that does not infringe on international copyright laws. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to include any copyrighted material in their abstract presentations. All authors will be required to agree to a copyright assignment statement when submitting an abstract.
